RUPA LOKA
Design is a Discipline.
RUPA is from the Sanskrit language, meaning form or appearance. LOKA refers to nature in Sanskrit. Put together, RUPA LOKA in Buddhism refers to the “realm of form”, a plane of existence that is the material and tangible world. For us, we interpret RUPA LOKA as the appearance of Nature in its essence, characterized by subtle and refined forms of each material which we use.
Rupa Loka frames furniture as form created to live in the world. Each piece begins with natural materials, but its final shape is resolved through real-world considerations - function, scale, movement, climate, and cultural context.
Rather than expressing nature as an idea, Rupa Loka focuses on how the form performs and belongs across different environments. The result is furniture that travels easily, adapts naturally, and remains relevant beyond a single place or moment.
